The People's Playlist: Vo. 17 - Lakeisha Allen

"Hi, I’m Lakeshia Allen, currently the Community Engagement Coordinator for Challenge Discovery Projects, an organization committed to improving the emotional health and well-being of children and their families through programs that promote self-worth and positive, healthy relationships. I’m a native of Hampton, South Carolina, but have been very involved in the East End communities of Richmond since I moved here in 2002.

In my free time, I enjoy coaching robotics, urban gardening, biking, and teaching free fitness classes. My playlist describes my feelings throughout my everyday life, plus I use the same playlist in my classes.

Music has been my therapy, especially coping with the death of my sister. It's crazy how a simple verse can put you in your feelings, but turn around and make you want to get up and dance in the mirror. Powerful, right? It’s worth it to invest in a quality playlist to get your day started, or to help you relax with a after a long day of grinding.  Enjoy this playlist of getting through.' "
